Activate a Form/Browse Window

IN THIS PAGE

Overview

The Activate a Form/Browse Window action gives focus to an open window. This is a useful action for guiding the user, as well as for repetitive data entry. This action can be useful when stepping a user through a process, sequentially giving focus to different forms or browses. If necessary, first use the Open Form or Browse Layout action to open the window. Consider using the Activate an Object action instead of the Activate a Form/Browse Window action, because it also sets focus to a selected object on the form or browse.

Procedure

  1. Make a selection in the Activate which Form/Browse window? field. This field will be grayed out unless this action is based on a Form or Browse. The choices are:

    • "Current Form or Browse Window".

    • "Another Form or Browse Window".

  2. If you selected "Another Form or Browse Window", in the Window Name field select either:

    • "Forms"

    • "Browses"

  3. Select one of the listed forms or browses.

  4. Click Next >.

  5. Optionally modify the comment that describes the action.

  6. Click Finish.
